Community is one of my pride and joys. Whether its through movies nights, pottery or food, I love bringing people together.
Queer Pottery Night
It’s no secret that the 2SLGBTQ+ community is extremely creative.
Art, in all its mediums, should be celebrated. Especially the art of pottery. QPN is to help bring Queer people’s creative juices flowing. Whether you’re a pottery pro, or have never touched clay.
With this event being completely free to participants, QPN aims to get more marginalized folks into the art space, especially QTBIPOC individuals.
Queer Movie Night
What’s better than the big screen, greasy popcorn, and surround sound? Experiencing all of those things surrounded by your community!
Queer movie nights started off as a way to get more Queer people to see stories made by them. Creating this space meant that people could show up authentically as themselves without the worry of holding their partner’s hands.
The comfort of knowing your community is sharing an experience with you brings a bond that is like no other.
Moving forward, I’d love to host more movie nights that highlight Queer Film makers and casts.
Queersgiving
Sponsored by Rogers, with gifts from Knix and hosted at Wealthsimple, we came together to celebrate love, acceptance, and community like never before. And guess what? We fed 100 people!
The best part? My best friend and I cooked all the food ourselves. From classic Thanksgiving dishes to Jamaican food, every bite was a testament to our shared passion for bringing people together through food.
Laughter filled the air as old friends reunited and new connections were formed. It was a true celebration of unity and inclusivity.
Throughout the evening, we shared stories, gave thanks for our blessings, all while we were surrounded by our chosen family. From heartfelt speeches to impromptu dance parties, every moment was infused with love and acceptance.
